Easton is 5!!!

I can't believe my baby is 5. I told him he couldn't grow up any more and he said, "Mom I can't help it, but I will always be your baby even if I am bigger." I said DEAL!! He wanted a bounce house for his party and it had to be Spiderman. Since his B Day is so close to Christmas we usually don't do much so this year I decided a bounce house was a great idea.

New Shoes!

That night we took the kids to Glendale Glitters to check out what fun things they had to do. The boys had a blast on the slides.

Griffin and Jax did the zip line and had a blast.

It is kinda hard to see, but Jax is inside this big ball and they rolled him down the street and back as he bounced around. It was so funny.

It was a great birthday for Easton. He said it was the best day ever so I guess you can't top that.....

Halloween 2011

Griffin the rapper. At first he told me he just wanted to wear a black hooded jacket and go as a mysterious kid. I told him he would not trick or treat with the lack of a costume. Since when are they too cool at 10 to dress up?

Easton was THOR. He HAD to carry his hammer around. Which got tricky with the bag and trying to get candy. He didnt last long. He had more fun staying home with us passing out candy.

And then there is Jax. This costume really has no name. It just looked fun and scary to him:)

We had a fun Halloween this year. Lots of times to dress up, get candy, play games, and be with friends.

Utah Trip Part 2: Lagoon

We had so much fun at Lagoon one day. The boys loved the thrill rides and want to run from one to the next to the next.... It gets exhausting but luckily there were other fun activities to do.

We also attempted a few haunted houses. These were some major scary ones, but we didnt realize until we had stood in line for 45 minutes so were were not turning back. The boys were scared, but Jax was terrified. For being my toughest kid, he did not like them. At one point he stopped mid way and wouldn't move forward. We carried him out crying from both of them. We decided that was enough frightmares for the day. It is always fun to experience a new theme park with the boys. We picked up In N Out on the way home and slept like babies that night.

Utah Trip Part 1: THE GAME

There was way too much fun had on our Utah trip. First stop was the football game. We all got decked out and layered up. It was so much fun to take the whole family to a game. ASU pulled out a victory so we called the trip successful early on:) Easton got a little bored but he survived on cotton candy, and other junk food. The older boys are getting so into watching games which makes it so fun.

Wow do their personalities come through in this pic or what. Oh yes and Jax got glasses. Turns out he did need them after me not really believing him for a few months. What can I say the kid loves attention.

In other news, Griffin is involved in way too much at school. Who is this kid? He never volunteers for things outside his comfort zone. He is student council secretary, part of NEHS, running club, and just told me yesterday he signed up to tutor in the mornings. So he is to school earlier than everyone and stays after school almost everyday too. I am so proud of him.

Easton is in the process this week of being mainstreamed at preschool. Thus far he has been in the special ed preschool class. He still has his IEP which means he is still part of the special ed program but he is now in a mainstream classroom. He had been nervous but his teacher has prepared him for this change. In one day they have gotten him to even try cream cheese! For those who dont know even touching something like that is a HUGE step for him. He hated it, but he tried it:) I feel like I am finally getting a grip on how to handle his issues. His dcts have even said he isn't the same kid they met 6 months ago. It is an uphill climb, but he is doing so well.

Basketball and a Vacation

Basketball season is under way:) Easton is playing this year too. As you can see he loves it. He loves his coach, friends, practice, uniform, every aspect of it all. I am so glad cause it could have gone south in a bad way. He gets 2 baskets every game and has a great shot. As you can see he is happy on the court.

Lets just say Jax is an animal out there. Yesterday he had 20 points. I finally started yelling at him to pass the ball to his teammates. Luckily he did and had some nice assists.

Jared is the coach of Griffin's team. It's been rough. Jared says there are the bad news bulls (the bulls is their team name). He got a rough group and they are in a higher division this year with more rules. Grif takes the pressure of being the point guard well. He makes his free throws and has a great lay up.

In other news, we leave on Thursday for 10 days in UTAH!!! We are sooo excited for a vacation. Not to mention taking the kids to the ASU vs Uof U game on Sat. It is going to be a party. My awesome aunt and uncle live in Farmington in a great house. They are the best host and treat us too well:) I think the boys will love temple square, lagoon, the game, park city, and of course the movie theatre at the house we are staying in. We got all our devil gear ready to tailgate all day. GO DEVILS!!!

Handsome in their Suits

Over the weekend Jared and I got the boys suits for church. Its amazing how sharp a little boy can look in a suit. Easton wasnt sure about it until primary started. In fact we spent all of Sacrament Meeting crying because the pants were weird and all the buttons on his shirt..... Anyway, he finally moved past the difference in church attire. I thought I should capture the moment in case he never wears it again. (which is fine since the whole thing cost $13)

Jax is not happy with me. I cant remember why now. Ha Ha. Oh Well, memories I guess!

First Day of School

Here are Easton's pictures of the first day of developmental preschool. He looks happy to go, but when we got there it was a whole different story. He stood in the corner as far away as possible from everyone and everything. I left and I guess he started to cry. He finally warmed up and did some activities except for snack time of course. When I picked him up he ran and jumped in my arms. He said he cried "because I really missed you mama". Stop my beating heart. As we speak he keeps saying over and over that he doesnt want to go today. But I must say he is the most stylish looking preschooler I have ever seen. His backpack is his pride and joy. It is Hurley and purple which is his favorite color.

Yes Jax has the same shirt as Easton. They both wanted it:) Jax is in 1st grade this year and loves his teacher. He is thrilled he gets to go on the big playground.

I still cant believe Grif is a 5th grader. He is the big guy on campus. He grows bigger everyday. He lays out his outfit the night before that he wants to wear the next day. And his new thing is to shower a hundred times a day. I think he cares what he looks like;)

I am so glad school is back in session. I was ready, they are ready.

Knotts Berry Farm

Everyone who has been to Knotts knows the best part is the food and the boysenberry punch. I probably drank a gallon of it everyday, it is soooo good. The first night we got there we waited in line to eat at Mrs. Knotts chicken dinner restaurant. It was worth the wait. Bethany and Tyler got to come with us too. We stuffed ourselves to capacity and went to sleep early for a big day ahead of us.

This day I didn't get many pics because we were busy running from ride to ride. The Lees got to come from the beach to spend the day with us. We had so much fun together. Here we are in line for.......

THIS RIDE!! I had been waiting 10 years to go on it. Last time I was there it was closed down. We got soaked but it was hot so it felt good:)

Easton couldn't ride many of the big rides so we went to Camp Snoopy. Here we are on Snoopy's skateboard ride. He was so thrilled when there was a ride he could go on.

Can I talk about how awesome this guy is? And he isn't bad to look at either. Here is my model-ish photo I took. He has been working so much so we could take a vacation.

He saw this game and quickly fell in love:) Its a 3 point shoot out. You had 40 seconds to get as many points as you can. It all started because the small prize was a little Yo Gabba Gabba stuffed animal which had to come home to my sweet nephew Dean:) Then it became, "I just need to beat my high score". FIVE times later we ended up with 4 small prizes and so close to the medium prize. We had fun watching him.

We had so much fun on vacation. 3 full days at Knotts was a blast. We even got to take in some cool shows there, and Grif and Jax learned what REAL roller coasters are. They are such thrill seekers.

Cool Down

I happened to be in Mesa visiting my family on the one day the power goes out in the whole city and it is 117 degrees outside. I thought I was going to literally melt. So we did what anyone in their right mind would do and jumped in the pool to cool down. The boys have loved swimming this year. They are all tan and tired :) at the end of the day.

Last day of school and Kinder graduation

School is out...... it has started: "I am bored", "he looked at me weird", "I'm telling", etc.....

The up side is that we all sleep in, go swimming, stay up late, and take naps whenever we want.

I cant believe how big the boys have gotten since the beginning of the school year. And did I mention I now have a 5th grader!!!! How scary is that. I am enjoying the summer while it lasts, but the school year is going to be fun too. Griffin has a super fun teacher and I am the secretary of PTO which is going to be lots of fun. Easton is in developmental preschool 3 days a week, with all the special needs care he needs!!! (and its free!!). He is going to grow so much and hopefully learn to cope with his hardships. Jax is such an awesome student. He loved Mrs. Powe (see pic below) and is so loyal to his teacher and friends.

I am feeling so grateful this morning and felt the need to write it down, so bear with me....

You know that feeling when things finally fall into place? After you have worked so hard for something, cried daily, put all your time and energy into it, and then snap all your hard work has paid off. That is how I feel this morning. This has all been so new to me. Different doctors, situations, and results. I am so grateful to all of those who have helped me through, gave me advice or just listened when I needed to rant. I am especially grateful to my Father in Heaven for recognizing ours needs at this time and giving me such a feeling of calm yesterday. It has been an uphill road, but I can finally start to see the end destination.

Easton is truly a gift. He is my sidekick. I know he was sent to me for a reason. To teach me patience, love, understanding and much more. Because of him, I feel like I have also mastered the "mothers instinct". I have followed it when people have thought I was crazy and when very few were on my side. He loves to love, and is very smart. It breaks my heart when he struggles, but I know that this new path is going to be great for him and I am so grateful he is able to go.

Road Trip

Jared and I just got back from a road trip to Utah. A girl who was really close to our family got married and we were invited, so we made the drive to Farmington Utah. The boys were left here with my mom and friends. We had so much fun catching up with Prescott Valley friends. It is weird to watch my kids first real babysitter get married. I guess that means we are getting old. We got to also catch up with family. We stayed with my aunt and uncle and had so much fun eating, laughing, and shopping. We want to take the kids there soon!

Double Digits

Last Saturday Griffin turned 10. We couldnt believe it, so we told him it wasnt allowed. I cant believe how old he is getting. He is the best kid. He is so kind hearted, smart, and athletic. He just got accepted into the National Elementary Honor Society and we went to the induction this week. I am so proud of his hard work to be accepted.

Basketball Season

Griffin and Jax are playing basketball right now. They both love it and are very good at it. Griffin scores most of the teams points. He has mastered his lay up and is learning to protect the ball. They play all the rules and it is sometimes hard to not travel, double dribble, stay out of the paint etc. I am so proud of how well he handles the ball with precision.

Jax on the other hand. Is a wild man. Literally whenever he has the ball there are players falling down left and right. He is so aggressive by nature, and fights for that ball. He too makes many points, but shoots mostly while he is on the run and by some miracle they go in. He is so tough, and plays great defense. I love that he isnt afraid to go after the ball.

So you can see how different the 2 are. Needless to say it is so fun to watch. I havent gotten any pics of Jax yet but here are a few of Griffin.

First Swim

This last weekend was so hot, the boys could hardly wait to jump into Grandmas pool. Jax of course was in first. Easton tried to brave the cold for a little while, and Griffin well after an hour I think he was up to his waist. Dean had to join his "boys swimming" no matter the temp. He just has to be one of them no matter what they are doing. Which then made Hudson get in too to play with Dean. I cant believe it is that time of year already.

Superhero Party

Yesterday my nephew turned 2! He had a superhero party fully equipped with a cape making station, mask, and goody bags. The boys had a lot of fun at the park. We gave him a helmet and glove that he was OBSESSED with. He refused to open presents after that one. He cried to just go play baseball and pitch. I love this guy who is getting so old so fast.

New York State of Mind

Last week I got to go to New York with my mom and sisters for 5 days. We had so much fun shopping, eating, walking, riding the subway, and most of all laughing. My sister Bethany gave us this trip for Christmas, and my mom in turn gave us tickets to see Wicked while we were there too. It was an amazing time finding new things to do and places to shop in the big city. We found some vintage markets that were unbelievable and fun to rummage through to find the goods. It felt so nice to get away and to leave the kids in good care. (thx Keri, Jared, and Scott) They are getting so old I dont think they even noticed I was gone! Here are a few pics from the trip. My sista has the rest......

PS The best dessert ever is the frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity, we each got our own, you just cant share something that good!

Where have we been?????

Maybe no one has noticed the absence of blogging..... but we have been busy. Jared decided he wanted to tile my whole house. Family Room, Kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, pantry, entry, and 2 hall ways. Oh wait, then he decided to take off the base boards and tile up the wall too (see pic below). My crazy husband and his projects. We lived out of laundry baskets, inhaled wayyyy to much dust, slept together some nights, and had to leave the house for a few days to get it done. I helped grout and clean the last few days. I am constantly amazed at what he can do. He had never done this before. It makes our house look like a dream, we love it and when all is said and done it was worth it. No more trashed carpet and dirty grout!!! What do you think?

Below are the finished project and the work in progress. Jared and I worked on this for 10 straight days. I dont know how people tile for a living. Our backs, fingers, hands, knees, and legs hurt. Jared suffered many injuries, including some fluid that is in his arm that he wont go see a dct for. But all in all we LOVE it!!!!

Surprise, Surprise.....

A few weeks ago on a Sunday Jared asked me if we could go to Disneyland? I have never been so surprised in my life. He wanted to leave Tuesday. So after a long 2 days, we had a hotel and tickets and we were ready to go. The kids didnt know we were going until we were in the car. It was so fun to do a spur of the moment trip. We stayed in a Disneyland hotel, which was soooo great, did a character breakfast, and went to the new light show which was unbelievable. We could even see it from our room each night. Easton was tall enough to do most the rides, so we all rode all the rides as a family. It was great bonding time, and so much fun. I will remember it for a long time:) Thanks Jared

On December 10th, my baby turned 4. I cant believe it really. Maybe thats why I havent acknowledged it yet on the blog. He had a great party with friends and then family over for dinner and cake a few days later. He got tons of presents and loved turning another year older. I however, am a little sad about it. I see baby stuff slipping away and older boy stuff creeping in. Maybe thats why I made all my kids and husband watch Beauty and the Beast today. Ha Ha

New Obsession

Jared has a new obsession........ Shooting.

He loves to go with his friend Scott anywhere and everywhere to shoot their guns and even kill a thing or two. A few months ago they wanted to go on a family outing overnight. I reluctantly said ok because the boys love it and Keri would be there. We drove up through Camp Verde and the higher we got the more snow there was on the ground. It was over Thanksgiving Weekend when there were record lows in the weather. Needless to say, there were no animals to kill (they were hibernating) and we had 10 degree temps most of the time there. Luckily our friends had a trailor we all crammed into to sleep warm. Here are some pictures of our campground, and the kids in the back of the truck in chairs as we drove around looking for squirrels. Seriously, obsessed......

Next time I will be checking the weather conditions boys......

Cancun (part 1)

Lets be honest: with all the pictures we took, this trip is going to have to be more than one post. So here is the first installment.

Cancun was amazing. Great food, great company, great weather, great beach, well you get the picture. We went with our great friends and we have never had so much fun. The hotel was right on the beach and had tons of food and what Keri and I called cabana boys. The fun started Sunday when we rode the bus into town. Riding the bus was an adventure. You would get on and before you had even paid the guy or finished walking up the steps he would take off. We stumbled our way to seats as we laughed at how crazy they drive. We hit Walmart and then the flea market where we all got henna tattoos. Those pictures are for next time........

It was a perfect way to spend celebrating our 10 year anniversary!

Another Student of the Month

This month it was Griffin that was student of the month. His teacher likes for it to be a surprise, so he had no clue. His teacher says he is so good in class she sometimes forgets he is even there! He quietly does his work, and helps others around him. I am lucky to be his room parent and see this first hand!

I cant believe Jax is 6 years old today! He is getting so big, smart and strong. He is such a blessing to have in our family! 6 things I love about Jax

1. How he sings at the top of his lungs on any song, even if he doesnt know the words.
2. How athletic he is. He loves sports and isnt afraid to play anything.
3. He still loves to hug and kiss me, even at school
4. He always tries his hardest at school, and gets excited when he accomplishes something
5. How he thinks it is cool to not wear pajamas anymore and walks around in his boxer briefs every night
6. How he thinks he has a 4 pack (on his stomach) which in his mind means he is HOT stuff!!

First Day of School

My kids are so lucky they get to go to a new school! It is right around the corner for the house and it literally just got finished being built. They walk to and from school and I couldnt be happier! Here they are on the first day. Notice the fashion that has been instilled in them this year. I think I have my sister to thank for that.... Luckily we go to Nordstrom Rack(which is their favorite store) and get them for a good deal.

Easton started preschool too. He LOVES his teacher and kisses her all day long. I asked him why he is giving my kisses away and he said,"because she is a great teacher Mom." I am so grateful school has started and for getting such wonderful teachers for all my kids. I am also on the PTO now too! We live a crazy life, but it is so much fun.

The Great Outdoors????

This last weekend we went camping with our good friends. We were all so excited to get away to the cool. We did get the cool but the rain came with it. It poured all day Friday. Luckily our friends who have a big trailer let us stay in there, although two moms, 6 kids, 2 dogs and lots of mud was pretty crazy. You may be wondering where the Dads were??? Well they put on their ponchos and dugs trenches so the flooding would go away. Then it hailed and rained some more so they dug more trenches. I wish I had my camera to take pictures of that. It was so funny. Although it rained and we saw the sun for approx 3 minutes the whole weekend, we still got to fish, make smores around the campfire, go frog hunting, shoot guns at pop cans, laugh for hours, eat good food, and be with great people. As you can see Jared did chubby bunny with the marshmallows, and made us some great fires to sit around.

My boys also loved the MUD. There was mud all over their clothes, shoes, chairs, tent, sleeping bags, blankets, coolers, tables, tarps, you name it it had mud on it. I think I ended up doing 15 loads of laundry??? And we had to spray everything off when we got home. At one point I caught Jax digging on his hands and knees in the mud.

If you were to ask Easton what his favorite part was, it would be that his girlfriend got to come with us. It was 72 hours with Mallory his 11 year old girlfriend(see pic above). He says he is going to marry her and kisses her all day long. He specifically asked for me to take their picture together so he could show his Grandmas. That kid is so funny.

All in all it was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. We couldnt ask for better friends!!!!

Jump Street

Last week the boys were SUPER bored and cranky, so Courtney , my Mom and I tried out this new place in Chandler. It is called jump street. It has tons of trampolines and for the little ones blow up slides. The older boys can play dodge ball too. It is nice because they can literally bounce off the walls. Ha Ha

They had a blast and it was nice having something new to do. 4 more weeks until school!!!

My Dean

The other day I took a buzz lightyear sprinkler to my moms for the little kids to play with. Dean had a blast running through it. He always makes me laugh when we go over there. Courtney left for a baby shower and said he was ready to eat lunch and take a nap. Little did she know he had other plans. He threw his sandwich at me and just wanted to play with the boys outside. We had a blast in the water and running around. His outfit was ruined, but having fun with cousins is more important. After he wanted me to hold him and just loved me.(which he doesnt do very often). Today we were leaving my moms and he wanted to come with us. He cried and cried, and broke my heart. I dont get to spend enough time with him, but I am sure glad Beth captured these precious moments for me. I feel like my kids are so old and I love enjoying my nephew.

Side note: I asked Easton the other day when he got so big???

I feel sad there are no little ones at my house today....... key word TODAY.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Griffin got to go to Cub Scout Day Camp. He looks forward to it every year. It is 3 day from 1 till 11 at night and they do archery, swim, bb guns, art, and tons of other stuff. This is his favorite part of summer. I love their uniform!!!

I shouldnt laugh, Jared and I just got called to be the Bear Den Leader............. I need some suggestions on how to dazzle up that ugly scout uniform. This should be interesting.

Project I have been working on

I finished this wall a while back and took pictures so I thought I would show it to you all. I found the big mustard yellow frame at Hobby Lobby for 20 bucks. Then I took all my other pics I had around and wanted to show off mixed with vinyl words to show what our family is. My great friend Shannon helped me piece it all together and make my vision happen. I think I often take for granted the GIRLS in my life. I am always surrounded by boys, and yet I have a mom and 2 sisters that are there for my girl "fix". I love shopping with them. I love how Courtney can make me laugh so hard I cant breathe. I love how my mom does the funniest things that we never let her forget. I love how Bethany is always aware of her nephews and their needs. I love how my mom is there for me no matter what and always seems to know what I need even when I dont. I love how much fun we can have together getting pedicures, talking about people magazine, making fun of celebrities, shopping, letting each other know about great deals, etc........ I am grateful when my sisters ask me for advice, and in turn give me advice.

So I guess I jinxed it. I blogged about Jax's staple and asked very nicely for this to not happen again. Not only did it happen again but it happened 2 weeks later. He fell off our stool and came down on the granite and hit his chin. I knew just from the sound that it was bad. I immediately yelled get in the car, and sure enough it needed 3 stitches. He was pretty calm through it all. I guess I need to accept the fact that with three boys this is going to happen on a fairly regular basis.

Today our Home Teacher came over and was talking to the boys about the temples. He asked the boys who does Heavenly Father want us to become like? Easton immediately raises his hand and says SPIDERMAN! We all laughed and then he asked how can we become more like Jesus(once Jax gave the right answer), Easton starts laughing and says "by staying in primary". Well at least he know he should stay in primary instead of having to go to nursery still. He says he hates those stupid songs and sitting in those stupid chairs. I know East if only we could all play and eat snacks forever.

A few weeks ago we went to some friends new house to help them paint for our date night. About an hour into it I get a call saying Jax had fallen and hit his head on our metal safe. Jared ran home and he had a hole from hitting the corner in his head that wouldnt stop bleeding. We waited a few hours and it was still oozing so I took him to the ER. Now keep in mind that after he fell he didnt cry, he didnt even know he was hurt until the blood started running down his arm and then realized something was wrong. We got right in and the dct said it wouldnt stop bleeding so he needed to staple it shut. I agreed and then he said we have 2 options. He could poke his head 3 times with a needle of lidocaine to numb it, or just shoot 1 staple and be done. I opted for the 1 stick instead of 4, although I was nervous he would not be numb. I should have known better. The staple gun came out and he stapled it shut. Jax didnt even flinch. I wish I have his pain tolerance. He thought he was the coolest kid having a staple in the head. Jax, it may have been cool ONCE, but please lets not do this again. K? Thanks

Griffins Birthday

So my computer has been acting up with the pictures, so I will see if this works. So much has happened in the last little while. It all started with Griffin turning 9????? Yep you heard me. My first born is 9. Where did all the time go? He invited 2 friends to Peter Piper and we just did our own little family celebration. He got lots of good stuff, and money. He had a great day.

Jax is playing t ball this year on the Indians. He is doing great and loves to play. A few of his games are at the spring training facility for the actual Indians.

Here they are in the big dugout. They felt like major leaguers. And who is that cute dugout coach????

Tomorrow they have another game there and they arranged to get a full tour of the facility. It is going to be a great experience for the boys. We love baseball season!!!

This weekend we took part in the Tillman Run at Sundevil Stadium. The adults race was 4.2 miles and the kids race was .42 miles. Jared and I have been so busy we didnt really train, but we thought oh well it will be fun.

I was so amazed that Jared and I both finished the race without stopping. The farthest I had ever run was 2 miles so I thought there was no way. But we did it. Jared finished first at 48.10 and I was 51.1o. My goal was to finish in under and hour so I was pleased. Mind you I have never run in my entire life. We loved spending time with family and taking part in this honorable tradition.

They both got a bunch of football players signatures on their shirts. They thought this was really cool. We also took them into the Tillman tunnel where all the players come out of. All in all it was a great day and very neat experience.

This year for St Patricks Day I thought it would be fun to make these rainbow cupcakes and give them to friends. I got the recipe out of the Family Fun magazine. I just didnt realize how much time they would take. First we had to make the cake mixes and them separate them out into 6 bowls equally. Then using the magazines recipe for colors we dyed them. Then in each individual tray I had to put a tiny layer of each color and spread it around. This took forever. So here is the before........

And the after. I forgot to take a picture of them all frosted and sprinkled with clover coins in them and they were on St Patricks day plates too. You can picture them right??? It was a fun activity with the kids to do over spring break, we may have to make this a tradition since we are always looking for things to do over spring break. This year we made a visit to Prescott. Stay tuned for pics soon.

Cute Story: Griffin asked me yesterday, "Mom, do I have to serve a mission?"

Me: Well no they dont make you it is your choice, why do you ask?
Grif: I just really want to serve a mission. I think it will be so fun and I want to bring people to the Gospel.

He always can put a smile on my face and tears to my eyes when I least expect it and when I most need it. I am so proud of him and his choices. I have always been amazed with his quality of faith and integrity. He always wants to do what is right.

The other day Easton got some dry erase markers. When I found him his legs were covered in blue marker. So I took him over to the sink and washed him up. He kept saying what about my body mom??? I was confused and finally said show me. He stands up and pulls down his pants to reveal the full moon with this all over it. I literally had to spread the cheeks to get it all out. Easton- why are you so bored that you would reach behind blindly and color your bum???? At least he didnt do the front side too.

I havent blogged for a while so I thought I would fill in what has been going on. Jared is getting transferred back to his old squad!!! This is a blessing for us and we have wanted it for a long time. He will have WED,THURS,FRI off again and I couldnt be more excited. I am trying to potty train Easton. I ran out of diapers again today and he has had no accidents so I guess we will see what happens. Jax is a soccer star and made 5 goals in his first game and 2 goals in the first 5 minutes of the second game and then we had to go. Griffin had a funny moment this week. He came home from school and I asked him how his day was,

Griffin: Well I cant be on tv tomorrow
Me: What do you mean?
G: Cory from Fox 10 news is coming to our school and I cant be on camera(picture the dramatics of this conversation as if I ruined his BIG shot)
Me: Well how come you cant be on camera
G: Because YOU signed a paper at the beginning of the year saying I couldnt be photographed
Me: I did??? I dont remember
G: Well you did and now I cant be on TV
Me: I can call the school and try to change it
G: Nope its just too late for that MOM

So apparantly I signed some paper that I must have misread. I thought it had to do with the internet and posting pictures??? I dont know, but I felt like the worst parent ever. He was one of only a handful of kids that couldnt be there for the helicopter and cameras. They were banished to the basketball courts. I really do feel bad about this even though he keeps telling me it is ok.

As for me I am busy with piano lessons and getting the boys to and from. But I am really loving this rain. We have a mud pool in the backyard. Next time I will post pics.

Gingerbread Houses

My Grandma has started a tradtion with the kids to make Gingerbread houses. She makes the gingerbread homeade and everything. This year we did it at my moms house after Tyler left on his mission. Here is how Jax's turned out.

Easton (as usual) marched to his own drum. He liked eating the candy more than placing it. Also note the spiderman jammies, he wears them every day. He will find them in the dirty clothes, washer, dryer, anywhere he can. Also note they are too small and expose his belly. He never wants to get dressed just wear his jammies.

Here is Grifs house. It turned out quite proffesional if you ask me.

In other news I got sick this week and doctors said it was verging on pnemonia. So I have been in bed and coughing and talking all funny. Hopefully I get better for Christmas. This is the first year since we have been married that we are staying home!! I cant wait, let the excitement begin.

Easton turned 3 last week and we celebrated at Peter Piper Pizza for the occasion. He got tons of things he wanted: a build shop, tools, police car, max stuffed animal, bubbles, money, clothes, a bank and more.

He does NOT want to be called a big boy and insists he is still a baby. And no he is not potty trained yet. He still has no desire. The truth is he is MY baby and if he wants to stay that way a little longer that is ok with me:) Although now for Christmas he has asked for a pink barbie??? I am always suprised when he opens his mouth the things that will come out. He also told me the other night that he just really wants his body to stay small. So do I Easton, so do I.

This picture is just cause I love this guy soooo much and miss seeing him even though they dont live that far away. He is the cutest thing and my boys adore him. Well Grif and Jax do but Easton is coming around. In fact they wore the same outfit in these pics and everytime he see it in his drawer he says" Dean matches me and my jeans".

I also just wanted to say how excited I am Tyler has decided to serve a mission. It is going to be a great experience for him and for us as we watch him serve the people in San Antonio, and learn and language. He is a great example to my boys, that even though he has been through a lot, he had made a great decision that will better his life and those he serves. I love you Tyler.

Disneyland 2009

Easton had his ups and downs at the happiest place on earth. This is obviously one of his downs. His favorite rides were the rockets, toy story, haunted mansion, matterhorn, dumbo.

So here is our Jedi Knight Training story. Jax wanted to be chosen sooooo bad. So Bethany prepped him for 20 minutes. You need to jump up and down, get in front, yell, clap, draw mega attention to yourself. So the split second the master comes out Jax is doing all these things. And we couldnt believe it but he got chosen first!!!! He did great until Darth Vader and Darth Mal came out and then he hid in the corner and said he didnt want to fight them. It was so sad.

Here are my 3 monsters on Halloween. Griffin as Dan Bakugan, Jax as a vampire and Easton as a Pirate. We got to dress up 3 times this year! We did the church trunk or treat, a family party and actual Halloween trick or treating. It was the first time one of the boys requested face makeup and black hair so they was quite the ordeal to do 3 times. But he loved it(especially the blood).

Easton wasnt sure about trick or treating at first. But then he realized you got candy and went into full blown character. He would say ARRGH MATIES! for his candy. It was so funny.

For the family party we dressed up too. I made these costumes, but we couldnt get a good picture of the back. Jareds said, I have nuts. And mine said I dont. Everyone got a kick out of it.

Disneyland pics are coming soon. We have been so busy. My brother went through the temple on Tuesday and we did family pics yesterday. Lots to catch up on....

Last week we got to go to the U2 concert with some friends from Goodyear. And while we were there we met up with THE GREATEST PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WORLD. The Briggs and Campbells from Prescott. Words can not describe the friends they are to us. We miss them dearly every day. Hope to see ya again soon.

Jax is 5!!!!

Thats right Jax had a birthday last week. It all started on Sunday(his actual b-day). He and Grif sang in the primary program by themselves. They did so awesome and lots of family came to see and celebrate. After the program we went home and had breakfast burittos and cake.

Then Monday night was the party. 10 little kiddos running around outside. We had pizza, games, cake, and presents. It was a ben ten birthday so we made flying saucers, and shot aliens with silly string. He got lots of great stuff and had so much fun with his friends

I cant believe he is 5 already. They grow too fast. The other day he asked me when he gets bigger if he can be a Dad. I told him he could and he said"how would I go about doing that?".
5 things about Jax
1.He can always eat something. I think if he isnt asking for a snack every hour his blood sugar gets low.
2. He is very passionate about things. Even the little things.
3. He never does things half way. Go big or go home.
4. He wants to be just like Griffin.
5. The energy he has in one day I wish I had for one week.

Soccer and Kisses

Soccer season has begun for Jax. His first game was Saturday and he did awesome! He loves to run and is super fast and aggresive. He scored the first goal for his team and assisted in the only other goal they had. Thank goodness for soccer providing a way to get all his energy out!

My nephew Dean has learned to give kisses. This weekend he only wanted to give the boys kisses. Griffin thought it was the greatest thing. Look at that death grip. Everyone was laughing so hard and got a big kick out of it. Dean seems to get excited when the boys go visit him. He loves the little kids running around and playing with him.

Here he is malling(sp?) Jax. I just love this little guy. As you can see Easton isnt pictures. He really doesnt care what everyone else is doing. He pretty much does his own thing. It is nice to have a kid who plays all by himself though. Funny story- the other night I told him to take a bath or go to bed. He didnt want to take a bath so he said he would go to bed. A few minutes later he came out and looked at the clock and said Mom its not 8 o clock yet. Im not going to bed. He thinks he is so old and knows everything.

Knee boarding

Over Labor Day weekend we went with our good friends to the lake on their boat. They got a new knee board that we all tried out. Jax LOVED it. We would get going and in one smooth motion he hopped up on his knees and released the rope and knee boarded away. He made it look so easy and fun. He even started doing it with one hand. We all couldnt believe a 4 year old was doing this, and doing it so easily.

Here is Griffin also doing it. He is crazy at the lake. He loves to try anything and go really fast so he flies off. A few months ago he even went in this tube that you have to climb into as you spin over and over again. I think it is safe to say my boys love the lake. (minus Easton who refused to get in the water or get on the knee board with Jared).

Trip to Prescott Valley

A few weeks ago we got to go to Prescott Valley for a baptism and to visit with good friends. Thursday night we got there and went to dinner with Jareds sister and her husband at Texas Roadhouse. There we discovered Easton LOVES peanuts. Who knew?? Then Friday morning we went to breakfast with lots of friends. The boys missed their friends and had fun playing with them . That night was a birthday party for Griffins friend Ethan. The boys did bumper cars, miniture golfing, climbed a rock wall, ate pizza and played lots of games. Afterward we went to the Campbells for some nice chatting, and lots of laughing. We realized how much we miss being there. Saturday was the baptism, and it was so awesome. Afterward we got to hang out with the Briggs all afternoon. I sure have missed their girls!!!! All in all we had a good trip. Here are a few pics we took. I love the one of the 3 boys........

Before you scroll down, look at this face. He is the cutest thing I have ever seen. So funny, charming, silly, smart, and loveable. Until this(scroll down)

This is what he decided to flush down the toilet a few days ago. ALL OF IT. So as you can imagine we(and when I say we I mean Jared) had to take off the whole toilet thinking they would be there sitting on the floor. We were wrong. They were stuck inside the actual toilet(you know the part that on the back that looks like wavey tube). I took wire hangers and a lot of shaking the toilet upside down to get everything out. Thanks goodness I have an ex plumber of a husband who can do these things for free.....

Here is our toilet sitting on the tile(still). Jared has not had time to get a new wax ring to re set it. FUN STUFF.

So I just had to take these pictures(even though they dont do his leg justice) of Jareds leg a few days after he got hit with a baseball. He is playing on a baseball team and a ball hit him below the knee. He didnt think anything of it and then he felt a HUGE knot. Over the next few days it continued to swell and bruise. The bruising covers his ENTIRE leg. I keep telling him to go to the doctor but he refuses. (Typical guy) It is looking a little better everyday but he still has the huge knot that is not getting smaller. Ladies help a girl out. What would you tell your husband? I think he needs to get it checked out........

BACK TO SCHOOL.... BACK TO SCHOOL....... To show my Dad that Im not a fool.........
Well you get the idea. School has once again started and we are so excited. (ok when I say we I really mean ME!). Jax started Kindergarten and he loves it. He loves his teacher, and the fact that his best buddy Owen is in his class. And Me? Well I am enjoying having only one little one at home and so is Easton. When I wake him up in the morning and say the guys went to school, he gets a huge grin on his face and jumps up and down. He loves his Mommy time.

What is with the peace sign??? I dont know, they think it is cool. Owen brought Jax a celebration cake on Sunday night with a candle for each of them to blow out. They were so excited to be big kids and go to school. As I drove Jax on Monday he asked if I could just drop him off on the sidewalk and he would figure out where to go. And then he told Shannan who does carpool with me to not walk him up to the door because he could do it himself. His independence amazes me.

Here he is doing an activity at his desk on the first day. He loved the fact that he got all new school supplies that are just for him. Griffin is almost done with the first Harry Potter book and he loves to read on the bus. I cant believe I have a 3rd grader!

Here is Easton at Disneyland. He LOVED this pirate hat and still wears it around the house to play. His favorite rides were Pirates, the rockets and the new toy story ride. It was a long 17 hour day but everyone did great. We had so much fun running from ride to ride and eating yummy food. My favorite part of the day was when us 5 piled in the tea cup and Jared turned us like crazy. I looked at my sweet family and everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces. I stopped to take a minute and be grateful for my husband and kids. It was a neat experience I will never forget. I didnt get many pictures because we were running around all day trying to do as much as we could in one day, but here are a few.

This is what Jax looked like every time he got water in his eyes. He would have somone guide him to a towel to do a quick wipe of the eyes and then he was good to go back in the water.

Easton LOVED the beach. He would just lay there and entertain himself. He was so good on the vacation. Probably because we kept busy which is totally his style.

We have been out of town for a few weeks, so I will do some catching up. First we went camping with all the Adairs. Fishing was at the top of the to do list.

The other night we went to Chic fil a for kids eat free night. The Goodyear PD was there letting kids check out their bikes. The boys had a blast sitting on them. (Easton was not impressed). We had a good Fathers day yesterday. Jared slept all day and I made him dinner. The boys also made him a homeade bank. I should have taken a picture it is pretty funny. But they were so proud of it and excited to give it to him. We are so grateful for a Dad who loves us, plays with us, teaches us, and is a great example!!!

Yes, Easton wears these most of the day. Here he fell asleep with them on in the car and I had to pry them off of him after. But first Jax said arent you going to take a picture? Yesterday Easton and I spent the day together. Grif and Jax were spending the day with Grandma Teresa. We went with our friend Cami to Lowes where Easton decided to poop and then stick his hand down his pants and show it to us. I came to the comclusion that he did this because Cami and I were in a Super Saturday zone and he needed some attention. Well we laughed so hard. Luckily I could run to the bathroom while Cami had the cart of stuff. Then it was out to the car to do a quick change and then right back in to meet Cami in the paint section. Then it was off to Hobby Lobby where East fell asleep on the way and managed to stay asleep in the smashed cart. He looked so uncomfortable. All in all we had a fun day together. By the way, he had a major crush on Cami. He LOVES her. He always wants her to come with us and answer the door when she comes over. The other night as we were laying in bed I said "Easton who do you love" (we often do this and the first answer is always mom). He said "Cami." I said "who else". His response "Cami, I need her to come hold me". So beware, because if you are young, hot looking mom and he doesnt know your name he will call you Cami. I will have to post a picture of them together. There is never a dull moment with East the Beast!!!

Eastons summer wardrobe

So as many may already know, Easton got tubes in his ears for the second time. The first time was a year ago and they never worked right. So after taking him to a new doctor he said there was a lot of fluid and blood built up behind the tube that had been there for who knows how long. A few weeks ago we were back in the out patient surgery room with a hungry(because they cant eat or drink before) cranky boy and that was before the surgery. Afterward he always has a hard time coming out of it but we survived. Now it is back to the ole ear plugs and ear band in the swimming pool. It is the biggest pain in the you know what to keep water out of his ears. It is a huge process every time we go swimming which has been almost every day since summer began. So here is the first picture of the get up he wears. Heaven forbid he doesn't wear goggles like his brothers. At least he is a happy boy now!!!

I feel like I never blog about Jared and I, so here is our latest picture. We have been keeping very busy. We recently completed a boot camp where Jared came in third in the final competition. It was fun to do something like that together. We dont get to very often. Jareds job is going great, and he loves it. I have been busy with enrichment, piano lessons, end of the school year stuff, swim team(for Grif) and who knows what else. It seems this time of year is just as busy as Christmas time. We are looking forward to summer although I still am not used to this heat yet. We have done some dumb things like leave crayons in the car(they melted of course) and leave chocolate in the car. Then we go oh ya it is a lot hotter here than in Prescott. So hot in fact I have found myself wondering what I am going to do with 3 very energetic boys ALL summer long? Any suggestions?????

Here is Griffin when he was 6 weeks old. I cant believe how fast time flies.

Here are 8 reasons why I love Griffin-
1. He is so smart. He can retain information like crazy. He remembers EVERYTHING. He can hear a song or movie and quote it right after.
2. He is super sensitive. He truly cares about people and wants to make others happy.
3. His Imagination. Usually he takes his imagination and turns it into art. He is a great drawer and writer.
4. His athletic ability. He has loved playing sports since he was a baby. He is a great teammate on and off the field.
5. He is a worry wart. This may sound like a bad thing but he worries about everyone. He wants to make sure people are ok and not left out. He worries about his brothers safety.
6. His sense of Humor. He loves to tell jokes and goof around. I love this side of him. Especially when he and Jared get going, it can make for some good laughs.
7. His Friendship. There has never been a kid or teacher that he has not gotten along with. This makes my life pretty easy when it comes to school and friends.
8. He is a peacemaker. He really truly just wants everyone to get along. He does not like contention, which makes is nice at our house when the boys just are not getting along.

Here are a few pictures we got done recently. Easton did not cooperate at all. And he has pink eye. But we needed to do them before the baptism. Our photographer did an awesome job.(even though she had to crop in Eastons head in some pictures)

This one is my FAVORITE. I love how it captures each persons personality.

Then after a long weekend I was so tired on Monday(and sick) so I took an hour nap. This is what I woke up to. He is at it again. He found permanent markers and colored himself. HEAD to TOE. I am still working on getting some of it off.

As a side note, Today marks the 4th anniversary of my Dads death. Words can not say how much I miss him and how I will my kids could have him here. He was the best example to me and I think about him everyday. But especially today.

Sunday we went to my moms for Easter Dinner. The boys had fun looking for eggs and a treasure hunt my Grandma did for them.

See the egg on the roses. They could not find it. They would look right at it. It was so funny we were all laughing so hard. The easter bunny brought them these cool ASU jerseys. I know you are all suprised by that.

So here is Disney on Ice. The boys loved the show. Jax didnt sit down the whole time. They were very suprised and our seats were on the 5th row! It was so close.

Here are the 10$ snow cones. I know it is crazy how much they can charge at these things. At least we can keep the cool cups and straws.

Busy Weekend

Our weekend was full of Easter fun. We started at Jareds Grandmas for her Easter party on Saturday morning. Somehow I didnt get any pictures of my kids there only Ava. But I am in love with this picture, it is so cute.

Next we colored Easter eggs. Bethany was there to help us. Then she suprised the boys with tickets to Disney on Ice for Griffins upcoming birthday. (I will show pics in the next post. For some reason Picassa only lets me post 4 pictures at a time??? Anyone know how to fix this?)

Here are some pictures of sweet baby Dean born April 1st. He was 6lbs and 2oz. He is so little, with tons of black hair. It is so fun for my family to see a baby from a different mold. The boys love him so much.

This was as close as Easton got to him. I dont think he was so sure, ecspecially when Grandma was holding Dean.
